Step 1. Download a PNG Coloring Page
Save the PNG file directly to your tablet or iPad.
Step 2. Open the File in a Drawing App
Any app that allows drawing over images will work. Popular options include:
Procreate
Sketchbook
Ibis Paint
Step 3. Add a New Drawing Layer
This is an important step. It keeps the original image safe while your child colors and traces freely.
Step 4. Choose a Tool
Crayon, marker, brush, pencil, or highlighter. Adjust colors, line thickness, or even add digital stickers.
Step 5. Color, Trace, and Play
Children practice fine motor skills, focus, and precision.
Adults relax their minds.
Everyone wins.
Step 6. Save the Artwork
Save the finished picture as an image, create a digital art album, or send it to grandma – she’ll be very proud.
Here’s a little trick that makes digital coloring extra smooth and satisfying, especially in Procreate.
Now you can color freely without covering the black outlines.
You can also use the Color Drop shortcut – just drag a color into a closed shape and fill it instantly.
